Section 2: That Section 203 of the Uniform Mechani- <br /> cal Code, 1973 Edition, be and hereby is amended to read <br /> as follows: <br /> Section 203 - Board of Appeals - In order to de- <br /> termine the suitability of alternate materials and <br /> types of construction and to provide for reasonable <br /> interpretations of the provisions of this Code, <br /> there shall be and is hereby created a Board of <br /> Appeals, consisting of seven members who are qual- <br /> ified by experience and training to pass upon mat- <br /> ters pertaining to building construction. The <br /> Building Official shall be an ex officio member <br /> and shall act as Secretary of the Board. The <br /> Board of Appeals shall be appointed by the Mayor <br /> and shall hold office at his pleasure. The <br /> Board shall adopt reasonable rules and regula- <br /> tions for conducting its investigations and shall <br /> render all decisions and findings in writing. <br /> Section 3: That Section 303 of the Uniform Mechani- <br /> cal Code, 1973 Edition, be and hereby is amended by the <br /> addition of a new Subsection 303 (e) which reads as follows: <br /> Section 303 (e) - To Whom Permits May Be Issued: A <br /> permit required by this code may be issued to any <br /> person, company, corporation, firm or contractor <br /> not acting in violation of any current contractor <br /> licensing law. <br /> Section 4: That Section 304 of the Uniform Mechani- <br /> cal Code, 1973 Edition, be and hereby is amended to read <br /> as follows: <br /> Section 304 - Any person desiring a permit required <br /> by this Code, shall, at the time of filing an appli- <br /> cation therefor, pay a fee as required by this Section. <br /> 1. For the issuance of each permit $ 3. 00 <br /> 2 . For the installation of relocation of each <br /> forced-air or gravity-type furnace or burner, <br /> including ducts and vents attached to such appli- <br /> ance, up to and including 100, 000 B.t.u' s 4. 00 <br /> 3 . For the installation or relocation of each <br /> forced air or gravity-type furnace or burner, in- <br /> cluding ducts and vents attached to such appli- <br /> ance over 100, 000 B. t.u' s 5. 00 <br /> 4 . For the installation or relocation of each floor <br /> furnace including vent 4 . 00 <br /> 5. For the installation or relocation of each suspended <br /> heater, recessed wall heater or floor mounted <br /> unit heater 4 . 00 <br /> 6. For the installation, relocation or replacement of <br /> each appliance vent installed and not included in <br /> an appliance permit 2. 00 <br /> 7 . For the repair of, alteration of, or addition to <br /> each heating appliance, refrigeration unit, cooling <br /> unit, absorption unit, or each heating, cooling, <br /> absorption, or evaporative cooling system, in- <br /> cluding installation of controls regulated by this <br /> code 4 . 00 <br /> 8 . For the installation or relocation of each boiler <br /> or compressor to and including three horsepower, <br /> or each absorption system to and including <br /> 100, 000 B. t.u. ' s 4 . 00 <br /> 9. For the installation or relocation of each boiler <br /> or compressor over three horsepower to and in- <br /> cluding 15 horsepower, or each absorption system <br /> over 100, 000 B.t.u. ' s to and including 500, 000 <br /> B.t.u. ' s 7 . 50 <br /> -2- <br />
