Section 6: That the Uniform Mechanical Code herein adopted be and is hereby amended by amending Appendix "B" by the addi- tion of a new chapter 23 , Water Heaters. Section 2301 - General - The regulations of this chapter shall govern the construction, location and installation of water heaters, heating potable water. All design, con- struction and workmanship shall be in conformity with accepted engineering practices and shall be of such character as to secure the results sought to be obtained by this Code. No water heater shall be hereinafter in- stalled which does not comply in all respects to nationally recognized standards. Where vents, chimneys or con- nectors are required, they shall comply with require- ments of other sections of this Code. -3-
