" <br /> Section 26 <br /> That Chapter 9 , Section 909 , paragraph (i) of the <br /> Uniform Plumbing Code herein adopted, is hereby amended <br /> to read as follows: <br /> " (i) Shower doors , tub and shower enclosures <br /> shall be constructed of approved type shatterproof materials <br /> such as laminated safety glass , fibre-glass reinforced <br /> plastics or equivalent materials. " <br /> Section 27 <br /> That Chapter 10 , Section 1004 , paragraph (a) of the <br /> Uniform Plumbing Code herein adopted, is hereby amended to <br /> read as follows: <br /> "Section 1004 - Materials <br /> " (a) Water pipe and fittings shall be of brass , <br /> copper, cast iron, galvanized malleable iron, galvanized <br /> wrought iron; galvanized steel, lead or other approved <br /> materials. Asbestos-cement, PE, or PVC water pipe manufactured <br /> to recognized standards may be used for cold water distri- <br /> bution systems outside a building. All materials used in <br /> the water supply system, except valves and similar devices <br /> shall be of a like material, except where otherwise approved <br /> by the Administrative Authority. <br /> "All non-metallic water pipe shall have a minimum <br /> pressure rating of 160 PSI. The installer of a non-metallic <br /> water service shall affix to the main electric meter panel a <br /> label stating, ' this structure is provided with a non- <br /> metallic water service' . " <br /> Section 28 <br /> That Chapter 10 , Section 1008 of the Uniform Plumbing <br /> Code herein adopted, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 1008 - Installation, Inspection and Testing <br /> " (a) Installation. All water piping shall be <br /> adequately supported to the satisfaction of the Administrative <br /> Authority. Burred ends shall be reamed to the full bore of <br /> the pipe. Changes in direction shall be made by the appropriate <br /> use of fittings , except that changes in direction in copper <br /> tubing may be made with bends having a radius of not less <br /> than six (6) diameters of tubing, providing that such <br /> bends are made by the use of forming equipment which does <br /> not deform or create a loss in cross sectional area of the <br /> tubing. Approved provisions shall be made for expansion in <br /> hot water piping. All piping, equipment, appurtenances and <br /> devices shall be installed in a workmanlike manner in conformity <br /> with the provisions and intent of the code. All water <br /> service piping shall be installed a minimum of 2 feet below <br /> grade. <br /> " (b) Water service pipes or any underground water <br /> pipes , shall not be run or laid in the same trench with non- <br /> metallic building sewer or drainage piping, except as pro- <br /> vided in this section. <br />
