• <br /> • <br /> and it shall be unlawful for any owner or occupant of premises <br /> where electrical equipment is used, or to be used, or for any <br /> person whomsoever, to prevent or interfere with the inspector in <br /> the discharge of his duties under this chapter; providing, <br /> however, that an assistant inspector shall, upon request of the <br /> owner or occupant of said premises, exhibit his authority to make <br /> such inspection, which shall be signed by the City Electrical <br /> Inspector. <br /> Section 13: RECORDS OF INSPECTION - ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR DUTY <br /> The City Electrical Inspector shall keep in his office a regis- <br /> ter in which he shall record the number of each building by proper <br /> description in which an inspection of electrial wiring, appliance, <br /> or apparatus has been made by him with the name of the owner or <br /> owners of such building, and shall keep a record of the number <br /> and description for proper indexing of all such certificates issued <br /> by said City Electrical Inspector, giving the day when the same <br /> was inspected and the person or persons for whom such inspection <br /> was made. <br /> Section 14 : LIABILITY FOR DAMAGE OR INJURY <br /> This chapter shall not be construed to relieve or lessen <br /> the responsibility of any person owning, operating or installing <br /> any electrical equipment, for damage to anyone injured by any defect <br /> thereof, nor shall the City or any agent thereof, be held as <br /> assuming any such liability by reason of the inspection authorized <br /> herein, or the certificate of inspection issued by the City <br /> Electrical Inspector. <br /> Section 15: NOTICE TO MAKE CHANGES OR ALTERATIONS - DISCON- <br /> NECTION OR WIRING AND FIXTURES <br /> If the inspector shall find any part of any electric wiring, <br /> apparatus or fixtures in or about any building in the City of Everett, <br /> to have been installed without a permit or not in accordance with <br /> the provisions of this chapter, or to be dangerous to life or <br /> property, he shall notify, in writing, the owner or occupant of <br /> such building, to alter, change, or replace such electric wiring, <br /> apparatus or fixtures, so that the same shall comply with the <br /> provisons of this chapter, within a period of not less than ten <br /> days after such notice, unless the violation is deemed to be <br /> hazardous. If such owner or occupant fails to comply with such <br /> notice and does not appeal from the decision of such inspector, <br /> as is hereinafter provided, said inspector, shall have the right <br /> to disconnect such electric wiring, apparatus , or fixtures, and <br /> place the seal upon such electric wiring, apparatus, or fixtures <br /> so disconnected. After such disconnected wiring, apparatus or <br /> fixtures have been altered, changed or replaced, as required by <br /> this chapter and such notice, the seal so placed upon the same <br /> shall be removed by the inspector. It shall be unlawful for any <br /> person, firm or corporation to use any current in, through, or <br /> by means of such disconnected wiring, apparatus or fixtures , or <br /> to attach other wires for the supply of current to such discon- <br /> nected wiring, apparatus or fixtures , or to remove, break or <br /> deface any seal so placed by said inspector. <br /> Section 16 : BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> In order to determine the suitability of alternate materials <br /> and methods of construction and to provide for a reasonable in- <br /> terpretations of the provisions of this Code, there shall be <br /> and is hereby created a Board of Appeals, consisting of seven <br /> members who are qualified by experience and training to pass <br />
