1. All electrical wiring in all buildings, except single <br /> family dwellings , shall be installed in approved metal raceways. <br /> All residential buildings, except single family dwellings and ex- <br /> cluding hotels and motels, located outside of Fire Zone #1 <br /> and #2 may be wired with non-metallic cable if all feeders and <br /> sub-feeders are enclosed in an approved metal raceway. <br /> EXCEPTION: Residential apartment of two (2) stories or less <br /> excluding hotels and motels outside Fire Zones #1 and #2, may be <br /> wired in accordance with Chapter 3 of the National Electric Code <br /> except all feeders must be installed in an approved metal raceway. <br /> Any basement with one or more apartments shall be considered a <br /> story. <br /> 2. All service entrance conductors shall be in approved <br /> metal raceway. <br /> 3. Service conductors, meter bases and service distribution <br /> panels must all have the same rating. <br /> 4 . The neutral on the main service must be at least 70 per <br /> cent of the ampacity of the ungrounded conductors. Minimum size <br /> neutral on residential dwelling shall be at least 70 ampere rating. <br /> 5. . All service panels shall have at least two (2) full <br /> size spaces for future circuits after wiring is complete. <br /> 6. Except for large load centers, all service equipment <br /> including switches, gutters and sub-feed switches , shall be mounted <br /> not more than seven (7) feet, nor less than three (3) feet from the <br /> floor or permanent working platform. <br /> 7 . All mast type services penetrating the roof of a building <br /> shall have an all lead flashing or other material approved for <br /> the purpose by the Electrical Inspector. Straps on service mast <br /> must be of heavy metal with galvanized plating. <br /> 8 . Underground service of a direct burial installation shall <br /> be of minimum size of 200 amperes capacity. <br /> 9 . Neutral conductors shall be of the type TW or equal <br /> insulation rating. <br /> 10. The minimum size service conduit other than special duty <br /> service shall be 1-1/4" . <br /> 11. The neutral conductor of the service wiring system shall <br /> be grounded in the meter base and continued to the neutral bar in <br /> the service switch. <br /> 12. As to new residences only, the following sizes shall be <br /> the minimum, but in no case less than that required by the National <br /> Electric code: Houses with a floor area up to 1200 square feet <br /> shall have a minimum service of 100 amperes. Dwellings of 1200 to <br /> 1800 square feet of floor area shall have a minimum size service <br /> of 150 amperes. Dwellings having a floor area over 1800 square feet <br /> shall have a minimum size service of 200 amperes. <br /> 13. Service panels in multiple family dwellings shall have a <br /> minimum rating of 100 amperes per each apartment. <br /> 14 . Not more than 10 outlets will be allowed on any one <br /> circuit. On a permanently fixed load the load shall not exceed <br /> 80 percent of the rating of the wire and/or the protective devices . <br />
