30 . Only one box extension may be used unless the depth of <br /> the box and extension does not exceed the length or width measure- <br /> ment whichever is greater. <br /> 31. All conduits, fittings and boxes used outside of the <br /> buildings within the waterfront area shall be rigid conduit, <br /> sheridized, galvanized or approved type plastic and shall be <br /> approved for wet locations. <br /> 32 . All wiring shall be performed by a firm or person <br /> licensed by the Director of Labor and Industries to engage in, <br /> conduct or carry on the business of installing wires or equipment <br /> to convey electric current or by a person having a current certi- <br /> ficate of competency issued by the Department of Labor and Industries <br /> to engage in the business or trade of electrical work as a journey- <br /> man. Such journeyman shall be employed by the company for which <br /> the wiring is being done and whose duty with the company is only <br /> that of installing wiring and electrical equipment. <br /> EXCEPTION: Any work regulated by this code in a single <br /> family dwelling used exclusively for living purposes, including <br /> the usual accessory buildings and quarters in connection with such <br /> buildings may be performed by the bona fida owner of such dwelling <br /> and accessory buildings and quarters if occupied by said owner, <br /> provided, that said owner shall personally purchase all material <br /> and shall personally perform all labor in connection therewith <br /> without having a certificate of competency as a journeyman electrician. <br /> 33. For all new construction and when required by the <br /> Electrical Inspector for alterations and additions there shall be <br /> provided a complete electrical drawing showing one line diagram of <br /> service equipment, equipment and conduit sizes, sub-panels , ratings <br /> and sizes by catalogue number, panel schedules and circuit loads . <br /> Feeder and feeder loads all services for apartments, motels or <br /> hotels shall be accompanied by the designer' s work sheet showing <br /> diversities taken in computing sizes of feeds and service con- <br /> ductors. When the Building Official issues the permit, he shall <br /> endorse in writing or stamp the plans and specifications "APPROVED. " <br /> Such approved plans and specifications shall not be changed, modi- <br /> fied, or altered without authorization from the Building Official, <br /> and all work shall be done in accordance with the approved plans . <br /> Any contractor not using the original electrical plans submitted <br /> shall pay an additional plan-checking fee in the amount of 25% of <br /> the plan-checking fee required by Section 303 of the Uniform <br /> Building Code, 1973 Edition, and not less than $10. <br /> 34. All wiring of more than 24 volts in the following classes <br /> of buildings shall be installed in conduit, electrical metallic <br /> tubing or other approved raceways in the following areas and <br /> occupancies as defined by the National Electrical Code: All <br /> buildings in Fire Zones #1 and #2. International Conference of <br /> Building Officials Uniform Building Code as adopted by the City <br /> of Everett Part of Table 5A, Group occupancies as follows : Group A, <br /> assembly building 1000 or more; Group B, assembly buildings, stadiums, <br /> reviewing stands, amusement parks (with or without stage) : Group C, <br /> schools; Group D, hospitals, sanitariums, nurseries, homes for <br /> aged (over 5 persons) ; Group E, storage of hazardous of flammable <br /> materials, factories handling combustibles, repair garages, aircraft <br /> hangers; Group F, gasoline stations, stores, factories, restaurants, <br /> office buildings and power plants, pumping plants , cold storage <br /> and creameries, factories and workshops using incombustible <br /> and non-explosive materials, storage and sales rooms of incombustible <br /> and non-explosive materials; Group H, hotels , dormitories , lodging <br /> houses, convents, monasteries (over 10 persons) . <br /> 35 . All main service panels supplying electric furnaces shall <br /> be main breaker types . <br />
