1 Merchant (Security) Patrolman $ 5. 00 per annum <br /> 2 Private Detective 50. 00 per annum <br /> Merchant Patrol Agency 25. 00 per annum <br /> 3 Private Detective Agency 100. 00 per annum <br /> 4 Employees engaged in both merchant patrol activities and private detective <br /> 5 agencies shall be licensed as private detectives. One private detective <br /> 6 license may be issued without fee to holders of Private Detective Agency <br /> License. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 For the purpose of this section, the following terms shall have the follow- <br /> ing meanings: <br /> 9 <br /> (a) "Merchant (Security) Patrolman" shall mean any person engaged <br /> 10 in the merchant patrol business, as that term is hereinafter <br /> 11 defined, including employees of a merchant patrol agency. <br /> 12 <br /> (b) "Merchant Patrol Agency" shall mean any person, firm or <br /> 13 corporation, engaged in the merchant patrol busiress, as that <br /> 14 term is hereinafter defined, employing one or more persons as <br /> 15 employees, assistants, clerks or operatives. <br /> 16 (c) "Merchant Patrol Business" shall mean the business of or the <br /> 17 representation of being engaged in the business for hire or <br /> 18 reward, and, as an independent contractor, of guarding or <br /> protecting persons or property or patrolling buildings, streets, <br /> 19 <br /> or districts, for such purpose. <br /> 20 <br /> (d) "Private Detective" shall mean any person engaged in the private <br /> 21 <br /> detective business, as that term is hereinafter defined, including <br /> 22 <br /> employees of a private detective agency. <br /> 23 (e) "Private Detective Agency" shall mean any person, firm or <br /> 24 corporation, engaged in the private detective business, as that <br /> 25 term is hereinafter defined, employing one or more persons <br /> 26 as employees, assistants, clerks, or operatives. <br /> (f) "Private Detective Business" shall mean the business of or the <br /> 27 <br /> representation of being engaged in the business of making an <br /> 28 <br /> investigation or investigations for hire or reward, with reference <br /> 29 to any of the following matters: Detecting, discovering, or <br /> 30 revealing crime or criminals, or securing secret information <br /> 31 or evidence relating thereto; the habits, conduct, movements, <br /> 32 <br />
