1 whereabouts, associates, reputation, character, or actions of <br /> 2 any persons, firms, or corporations; the credibility of witnesses <br /> 3 or other persons; the location or recovery of lost or stolen <br /> property; the causes, origin, or responsibility for fires, <br /> 4 <br /> accidents, and injuries to real or personal property; the securing <br /> 5 of evidence to be used before authorized investigating committees, <br /> 6 boards, or in the trial of civil or criminal cases. <br /> 7 <br /> Section 10: <br /> 8 <br /> Nothing in this ordinance shall apply to any officer or employee of any state, <br /> 9 county, city or town, appointed or elected by due authority of law; to any <br /> 10 person, firm or corporation, whose business is the furnishing of information <br /> 11 as to the business and financial standing and credit of persons, firms or <br /> 12 corporations; nor to any person, firm or corporation inquiring as to the <br /> 13 personal habits and financial responsibilities of applicants for insurance., <br /> indemnity bonds, or commercial credit, or of claimants under insurance <br /> 14 <br /> policies. <br /> 15 <br /> Section 11: Identification <br /> 16 <br /> Every applicant obtaining a license under the provisions of this ordinance <br /> 17 shall be furnished an identification card by the City Clerk. Such identifica- <br /> 18 tion card shall contain the name, general description, signature and <br /> 19 photograph of the applicant. <br /> 20 It shall be unlawful for any person to act as a private detective or <br /> 21 merchant (security) patrolman for hire within the City of Everett, unless <br /> such person carries an identification card as hereinabove provided upon his <br /> 22 <br /> or her person while so acting. It shall also be unlawful for any person to <br /> 23 refuse to exhibit his or her identification card upon demand of any regular <br /> 24 police officer of the City of Everett. <br /> 25 Section 12: Records and Inspection <br /> 26 Every person, firm or corporation licensed under this ordinance as a <br /> 27 Private Detective Agency or a Merchant Patrol Agency shall keep a book or <br /> 28 books containing the full name, place of residence, address, complete and <br /> 29 accurate description and history or record of each person employed by <br /> by said firm regularly or occasionally as a private detective or as a merchant <br /> 30 <br /> (security) patrolman within the City of Everett.
