I. Employees of the City of Everett who perform services the same as <br /> or similar to an Ambulance Attendant pursuant to their official <br /> duties in the course of their employment with the City of Everett <br /> shall not be obligated to pay this license fee, but must conform <br /> to all other regulations as set forth by this Ordinance. <br /> Section 9: Standards for Ambulance Attendants and Conditional Ambulance <br /> Attendants License <br /> A. Ambulance Attendant - Each ambulance operator and emergency first <br /> aid service shall have, for each vehicle in service, on duty and <br /> available for immediate response, two Ambulance Attendants who <br /> are licensed for emergency medical service as provided in <br /> Section 9B of this Ordinance. A certificate of license shall be <br /> carried on the person of each Ambulance Attendant and Conditional <br /> Ambulance Attendant while on duty. <br /> B. Ambulance Attendant - Certificate of License - No person shall <br /> perform the duties of an Ambulance Attendant without first obtain- <br /> ing an Emergency Medical Technician's Certificate. No such <br /> Ambulance Attendant license shall be issued to any applicant who <br /> has not previously held such an EMT Certificate, or whose EMT <br /> Certificate has been expired for more than one year, unless: <br /> (1) The applicant has successfully completed an advanced first aid <br /> training and/or other paramedical course approved by the License <br /> Officer or holds a certificate approved by the License Officer. <br /> First aid training for Ambulance Attendant shall be at least <br /> equivalent to the course outline: Basic Training Program for <br /> Emergency Medical Technician - Ambulance, recommended by the <br /> United States Department of Transportation. Equivalency shall <br /> be determined by the Advisory Committee. <br /> (2) The applicant has a valid Washington State Driver's license <br /> issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles; Provided that the <br /> License Officer may consider the driving record as verified by <br /> the Department of Motor Vehicles in determining whether a license <br /> shall be issued or refused for an Ambulance Attendant. <br /> (3) The applicant is eighteen years of age or older. <br />
