4) The spacing, size, color(legend and background, if applicable) and quantity of all <br /> traffic control devices. <br /> 5) Work areas including ingress and egress for construction vehicles. <br /> 6) Expected duration that traffic control plan will be in effect. <br /> 7) Roadway plan sheets with the location of each sign so it can be easily read in relation <br /> to the roadway and other traffic control devices. A small scale layout of each sign shall <br /> be shown on the corresponding roadway plan sheet where the sign is to be placed. <br /> 8) Provisions for using temporary guardrail, temporary concrete barrier, or attenuators to <br /> satisfy clear zone requirements and to protect the traveling public and Contractor's <br /> personnel including lateral displacement distance behind barrier. <br /> 9) Methods for covering, partially covering, or modifying signs when not applicable to the <br /> current phase. <br /> 10)Temporary pavement markings shall include striping, crosswalks, intersection details, <br /> and traffic delineators. <br /> 11)Type and location of all pavement markings to be installed. <br /> 12)Typical sections covering each change in configuration including, but not limited to, <br /> reduction in lane and/or shoulder widths, reduction or increase in number of lanes, and <br /> changes of lateral barrier placement or type. Sections shall show lane configuration <br /> (including direction of travel) and widths, lane type and number of lanes, shoulder <br /> widths, lateral buffer distance behind barrier, work areas, and pavement marking type. <br /> Sections shall also include the station limits the section applies to, and shall be <br /> provided to cover the entire length of the segment included in the plan. <br /> 13)Access and control of bicyclists and pedestrians including persons with disabilities in <br /> accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) through the traffic <br /> control zones shall be included on the plans. <br /> 14)The traffic control plans shall be complete including all necessary details. Typical <br /> traffic control configurations such as those found in the MUTCD may be used to assist <br /> in developing site specific traffic control plans. Only approved traffic control plans shall <br /> be used by the contractor. Typical plans are not acceptable unless incorporated as <br /> details in the approved plans. <br /> Project Specific Traffic Control Plan Requirements <br /> For this project, traffic control plans shall reflect the following requirements. Lane closures are <br /> subject to the restrictions in Special Provision Section 1-07.23. <br /> 1) A minimum 11-ft width shall be maintained for through lanes. Where there are existing <br /> left-turn lanes, the left turn lane shall be maintained at 12-ft width. <br /> 2) The design speed shall be 35 mph during construction. <br /> Swift Green Line—Corridor Stations Special Provisions SP67 <br /> May 2017 <br />
