8-04 CURBS, GUTTERS, AND SPILLWAYS <br /> 8-04.1 Description <br /> Section 8-04.1 is supplemented with the following: <br /> This Work also includes furnishing and installation of bus curb bumpers to curb face at Stations <br /> including curb paint. <br /> 8-04.2 Materials <br /> Section 8-04.2 is supplemented with the following: <br /> Bus Curb Bumper <br /> Bus Curb Bumpers—"Ultra Poly Bus-Curb" high-strength yellow polymer"bumper" <br /> Manufactured by Ultra Poly, Inc. Tacoma, WA, http://www.ultrapoly.com. Information and <br /> product details are provided in Appendix F-4. No substitutions. <br /> Attachment—Wei-it Fastening Systems. No substitutions. <br /> 1. PSS-38 Stainless Steel Power-sert Anchors with zinc oxide coated bolts <br /> 2. ECA8, Inject-TITE AWF All-Weather Formula Epoxy Acrylate (winter) <br /> 3. ECT8F, Inject-TITE FS Fast-Set Formula Epoxy (summer) <br /> 4. ECT22, Inject-TITETM STTM Standard-Set Formula Epoxy Acrylate (requires twin tube <br /> application gun) <br /> Curb Striping shall be yellow in color and comply with Section 9-34 of the WSDOT Standard <br /> Specifications. <br /> 8-04.3 Construction Requirements <br /> Section 8-04.3 is supplemented with the following: <br /> Bus Curb Bumper Installation <br /> A. Schedule application of bus curb bumper product at proper time interval after applying <br /> paint to curb to allow paint to completely dry. <br /> B. Provide materials as necessary to protect adjacent surfaces, platform graphics, and <br /> adjacent structures from damage. <br /> C. Clean surface of curb and remove all loose particles and debris from installation area. <br /> D. Anchor bus curb bumper to the existing curb face per the details in the Plans and <br /> Appendix F-4. <br /> E. Begin placement of first section of bus curb bumper at departure end of platform as <br /> shown in the details on the plans. <br /> F. Align breaks between each bus curb bumper section with existing jointing pattern on <br /> station platform as shown in the details on the plans. <br /> G. Anchors shall be installed using a guide jig for accuracy. Anchors shall be set straight <br /> into curb. <br /> H. Assure bus curb bumper is held straight and securely against the face of the curb and <br /> spot drill 3/8-inch diameter holes in concrete curb at pre-drilled locations along bus curb <br /> bumper. <br /> I. Remove bus curb bumper and drill 9/16-inch diameter holes 31%-inch deep at spot <br /> drilled locations. Care should be taken when drilling 9/16-inch diameter holes to assure <br /> Swift Green Line—Corridor Stations Special Provisions SP107 <br /> May 2017 <br />
