proper alignment and to minimize need for over-drilling. Remove drilling debris from <br /> installation area. Clean drilled holes in accordance with epoxy manufacturer's <br /> requirements. <br /> J. Coat the bolts with LPS 3 Premier Rust Inhibitor for lubricity and corrosion control. <br /> K. Install all bolts with attached anchors on bus curb bumper and verify alignment of drilled <br /> hole locations. Complete any required adjustment to the hole alignment. Over-drilled <br /> holes of up to 5/8-inch diameter which are required for hole alignment may be allowed if <br /> approved by the Inspector. Over-drilled 5/8-inch diameter holes shall not be <br /> concentrated at a single location along the curb bumper: no more than two consecutive <br /> over-drilled holes and no more than a single over-drilled hole located at bumper ends. <br /> When conditions are encountered where these requirements cannot be met, the <br /> Contractor shall drill new holes for fasteners 2-inches from existing fasteners and install <br /> fasteners at new hole locations. Re-clean any drilled holes that required adjustment. <br /> L. Inject epoxy into cleaned holes following epoxy manufacturer's requirements. Clean <br /> excess epoxy from concrete curb surface. Install bus curb bumper with bolts and <br /> anchors attached into pre-drilled and epoxied holes. Complete final adjustment of <br /> anchors to assure they are properly set and do not extrude beyond the face of curb. <br /> Verify threads and bumper surface are clear of epoxy. Bus curb bumper shall remain in <br /> place until anchors are secure in accordance with epoxy manufacturer's gel-time <br /> requirements. <br /> M. Loosen bus curb bumper leaving anchors set into the concrete curb and clean excess <br /> epoxy from surface of curb, bus curb bumper, and bolts. <br /> N. Following epoxy manufacturer's required cure-time, assure bolts are properly seated, <br /> and tighten all bolts to approx. 15 lbs to assure curb bumper is flush with curb face. <br /> Clean excess anti-seize compound from curb bumper and concrete curb surface. <br /> O. Repeat for subsequent bus curb bumpers along station curb as shown in the project <br /> plans. <br /> P. Prior to leaving installation site, Contractor shall verify curb bumper is flush with curb <br /> face along entire length of installation and re-tighten bolts as required. <br /> Q. Clean and remove all loose particles and debris from installation area. <br /> 8-04.4 Measurement <br /> Section 8-04.4 is supplemented with the following: <br /> Furnish and Install Bus Curb Bumper Incl. Curb Paint will be measured by the linear foot. <br /> 8-04.5 Payment <br /> Section 8-04.5 is supplemented with the following: <br /> Curb and gutter transitions to Cement Concrete Curb for Swift Station will be measured and paid <br /> as Cement Concrete Traffic Curb and Gutter. <br /> "Furnish and Install Bus Curb Bumper Incl. Curb Paint", per linear foot. <br /> The unit contract price per each for"Furnish and Install Bus Curb Bumper Incl.
