Section 8-20.3(11), is revised as follows: <br /> In the fourth paragraph, replace all references to "Contracting Agency electronics technician" <br /> with "Operating Agency signal technician". <br /> The following is added to the end of Section 8-20.3(11): <br /> On the same day, and following successful turn on, the Contractor shall adjust all optically- <br /> programmed signal heads and all louvered signal heads, as directed by the Engineer. <br /> Additionally, the Contractor shall remove all conflicting signs and signal equipment not specified <br /> to remain, as directed by the Engineer. <br /> Fiber Optic Cable Testing <br /> Fiber Optic Cable Testing is required for the bid item, "SR 527 at 208th Street SE (SR 524) <br /> Temporary System AND Traffic Signal Modifications, Complete," which shall include the <br /> following two systems: "SR 527 at 208th Street SE (SR 524) Temporary Traffic Signal System, <br /> Complete"And "SR 527 at 208th Street SE (SR 524)Traffic Signal Modifications, Complete." <br /> Fiber Optic Cable Testing is also required for the bid item "Relocate Existing Interconnect— <br /> ", at each of the following locations: <br /> • SR 527 at 196th Street SE Southbound <br /> • SR 527 at 196th Street SE Northbound <br /> • SR 527 at 164th Street SE Northbound <br /> • 128th Street SW at 4th Avenue W. Northbound/Westbound <br /> • Airport Road at SR 99 Southbound <br /> • Airport Road at 112th Street SW Southbound <br /> • Airport Road at 100th Street SW Southbound <br /> • Airport Road at Kasch Park Road Southbound <br /> Prior to the removal and re-installation of existing fiberoptic cable as part of the Small Cable <br /> Vault installation shown on the Plans, the Contractor shall conduct fiberoptic cable testing in the <br /> presence of the Engineer to determine the condition of the existing cable fibers and to document <br /> these conditions as described herein. The Contractor shall also conduct fiberoptic cable testing <br /> (in the presence of the Engineer) of the existing cable fibers after they have been re-installed, <br /> as identified in the Contract, and document the results. Should the results of"before removal" <br /> and "after re-installation" testing indicate that damage to the cable has occurred, the Contractor <br /> shall, at no additional expense to the Owner, replace the damaged fiberoptic cable at the <br /> Engineer's direction, such that a continuous cable segment of equivalent or better type, length, <br /> quality, and condition to the original existing cables is restored between the existing endpoints <br /> and the Fiberoptic Cable Vault indicated on the Plans. Any new cable shall otherwise conform <br /> to Section 9-29.3 of the Standard Specifications. <br /> Fiber Optic Cable Testing <br /> The installed optical fiber cable shall be tested for compliance with the transmission <br /> requirements of this specification and prescribed industry standards and practices. <br /> Prior to commencing acceptance testing, the Contractor shall complete the installation of <br /> the fiber optic system.
