All testing values shall be in metric. <br /> Power Meter Testing <br /> Power meter testing shall be used to measure the end-to-end attenuation of each <br /> existing fiber. Power meter testing shall be performed at the 1310 and 1550 nanometer <br /> wavelength in both directions. <br /> Prior to commencing testing, the Contractor shall submit the manufacturer and model <br /> number of the test equipment along with certification that the power meter has been <br /> calibrated within 12 months of the proposed test dates to the Engineer. <br /> The following information shall be documented for each fiber test measurement: <br /> 1. Fiber/Strand# <br /> 2. Fiber type <br /> 3. Cable, tube, and fiber IDs <br /> 4. Near end and far end test locations <br /> 5. End-to-end attenuation, in each direction and the bidirectional <br /> average <br /> 6. Length of span being tested <br /> 7. Date, time, and operator <br /> 8. Wavelength <br /> Fiber Cable Testing Documentation <br /> The Contractor shall submit one hard copy and one electronic copy of the fiber test <br /> results to the Engineer for approval. The Contractor shall take corrective actions to any <br /> damaged cables, as described above. <br /> Upon acceptance of the cable installation and test results, the Contractor shall submit <br /> one hard copy and one electronic copy of the fiber test results to the Engineer. <br /> The hard copy submittal shall be bound in a 3-ring binder. The binder shall have the <br /> following information on the front and side: <br /> 1. The title "Fiber Optic Test Results" <br /> 2. The name of the roadway(s)where fiber was installed <br /> 3. Contract name and number <br /> 4. Date <br /> The front cover shall also include the company name address and phone number that <br /> did the fiber optic work. <br /> Each 3-ring binder shall also include a table of contents and index dividers for each <br /> cable segment and each direction tested. <br /> The following information shall be included in each test result submittal: <br /> 1. Contract number, contract name, contractor name and address <br /> 2. Dates of cable installation and testing <br /> Swift Green Line—Corridor Stations Special Provisions SP131 <br /> May 2017 <br />
