B. Wiring systems less than 50V: Unless noted otherwise in other sections of these <br /> documents, may be installed as open wiring concealed above accessible suspended <br /> ceilings and other accessible spaces. <br /> 1. Install wiring in conduit where routed in walls, exposed, above non-accessible <br /> ceilings, in non-accessible spaces, and outdoors. <br /> 2. Provide conduit sleeves where low voltage wire penetrates walls. <br /> 3. Provide outlet boxes for low voltage wiring devices and splices. <br /> INSTALLATION <br /> A. Install wire and cable securely, in a neat and workmanlike manner, as specified in NECA <br /> 1. <br /> B. Open wire shall be installed in a neat and workmanship like manner, parallel or <br /> perpendicular to building lines and supported at intervals not greater than 5'. <br /> C. Route wire and cable as required to meet project conditions. <br /> D. Use wiring methods indicated. <br /> E. Pull all conductors into raceway at same time. <br /> F. Use suitable wire pulling lubricant for building wire 4 AWG and larger. <br /> G. Neatly train and lace wiring inside boxes, equipment, and panelboards. <br /> H. Clean conductor surfaces before installing lugs and connectors. <br /> I. Make splices, taps, and terminations to carry full ampacity of conductors with no <br /> perceptible temperature rise. <br /> J. Identify and color code wire and cable. Identify each conductor with its circuit number or <br /> other designation indicated. <br /> K. Branch Circuit Installation: Branch circuits wire size shall be#12A W.G. minimum, with <br /> continuous color code identification. Make no splices in home runs. Do not intermix wiring <br /> from separate raceway systems unless specifically indicated. <br /> L. Feeders: Size feeders as shown on drawings. Identify according to color code standards. <br /> Make no splices unless shown on the Plans or specifically approved by the Owner's <br /> representative.
