DIVISION 9 <br /> MATERIALS <br /> 9-07 REINFORCING STEEL <br /> 9-07.2 Deformed Steel Bars <br /> This section is supplemented with the following: <br /> All reinforcing steel shall consist of deformed steel bars complying with either ASTM A615, <br /> Grade 60 or ASTM A706, Grade 60. <br /> 9-14 EROSION CONTROL AND ROADSIDE PLANTING <br /> 9-14.1 Topsoil <br /> 9-14.1(1) Topsoil Type A <br /> Section 9-14.1(1) is supplemented as follows: <br /> Topsoil Type A shall consist of a mixture of compost, meeting requirements of Section 9- <br /> 14.4(8), and sandy loam per USDA soil texture classification. The mixture shall contain a <br /> minimum of 10% organic matter. The mixture shall be free of weeds, deleterious materials, <br /> rocks, and debris. 100% of the imported topsoil shall pass through a 3/4" screen, less than 25% <br /> shall pass through a #200 sieve. Submit one-gallon sample, source, and letter of certification <br /> from the supplier for approval prior to installation. <br /> The topsoil shall be Cedar Grove Composting 3-Way Topsoil, Pacific Topsoil 3-Way Topsoil or <br /> approved equal. To be equal, source should be a commercial operation with expertise in <br /> production of topsoil, an established method of screening materials to verify no pollutant <br /> contamination and that all materials are biodegradable, and produce a product that is equal in <br /> quality to the source listed. A quality topsoil product is at a minimum a sandy loam soil with fine <br /> compost amendments, rich in nutrients, free draining, and weed free. <br /> 9-14.2 Seed <br /> Section 9-14.2 is supplemented with the following: <br /> Seeding shall be composed of the following varieties mixed in the properties indicated: <br /> Erosion Control Seed Mixture Proportions <br /> By <br /> Name Weight % Purity % Germination <br /> Blue Wildrye 30% 95% 90% <br /> Tufted Hairgrass 30% 95% 90% <br /> Native Red Fescue 30% 95% 90% <br /> Redtop 10% 95% 90% <br /> Above seed mix shall be applied at the rate of one (2.75) pounds per 1,000 square feet. <br /> Swift Green Line—Corridor Stations Special Provisions SP188 <br /> May 2017 <br />
