City of Everett 00 7300 - 4 <br /> 2019 Biosolids Removal UT3705-2 <br /> DEWATERING CHEMICALS AND EQUIPMENT <br /> 1. Net weight of dewatering agents to be used for this project shall be submitted to <br /> the City's Project Manager upon delivery to the work site. Costs for dewatering <br /> agents shall be incidental to the unit cost per Dry Ton of biosolids treated. <br /> J. COMPATIBILITY WITH AGRICULTURAL USES I <br /> 1. City intends to apply the biosolids on farmland specifically selected and permitted <br /> for land application of biosolids. Biosolids quality must not be altered to be <br /> potentially toxic to plants, or by any means rendered unsuitable for agricultural <br /> utilization. <br /> 2. City will reject any and all applications for payment for biosolids rendered <br /> unsuitable for agricultural utilization. <br /> 3. Contractor agrees to dispose of biosolids rendered unsuitable for agricultural <br /> utilization at no expense to City. <br /> K. CENTRATE RETURN AND EFFECTS ON WASTEWATER TREATMENT <br /> 1. Contractor shall return Centrate to the wastewater treatment process stream using <br /> the 10-inch centrate return line. This line runs from the biosolids processing pad to <br /> the north end of Aeration Cell 1. <br /> 2. Contractor shall monitor and minimize any scum mat, foaming or other effects from <br /> dewatering chemical side-streams. Scum mats that form at the Recirculation Pump <br /> Station or the Aeration Cells in excess of 100 square feet in surface area shall be <br /> the responsibility of Contractor to collect and dispose of in dumpster(s) provided <br /> by the City for this purpose. Any costs of controlling, adjusting, or remediating , <br /> effects of dewatering side-streams shall be incidental to the costs of dredging and <br /> dewatering. <br /> I <br /> L. BIOSOLIDS DREDGING <br /> 1. Dredging Equipment <br /> a. The Contractor will provide the dredge and all necessary equipment to <br /> dredge the biosolids from the aeration ponds. The Contractor will also <br /> provide all fuel and other equipment and appurtenances necessary to <br /> perform and support the dredging operations. Contractor is responsible <br /> to maintain and repair any damage incurred to the dredge during <br /> dredging operations. <br /> 2. Spills <br /> a. Any spillage of polymer, fuel or any debris or materials associated with <br /> the Contractor's activities or operations must be reported to the City's <br /> Project Manager as soon as possible. <br /> b. The Contractor shall clean up any spills immediately per the Contractor's <br /> approved Spill Prevention Plan or in a manner approved of by the City's <br /> Project Manager.
