. <br /> Upon approval of an application as hereinabove provided for a cabulance <br /> driver's permit the City Clerk shall issue a permit to the applicant which <br /> permit shall bear the name, address, age, signature and photograph of the <br /> applicant, such permit shall be in effect for the remainder of the calendar year. <br /> A permit for every calendar year thereafter shall be issued upon the payment <br /> of $5. 00 and may be issued within 30 days of the expiration of the calendar year. <br /> Such renewal, however, shall not be granted unless the permit for the preceding <br /> year has not been revoked. <br /> Section 13: Every driver licensed under this ordinance shall post his <br /> driver's permit in such a place as to be in full view of all passengers while such <br /> driver is operating a cabulance. <br /> Section 14: Each cabulance shall be equipped and maintained at all times <br /> by the operator thereof for safe and lawful operation as a cabulance and in accordance <br /> with the laws of the City of Everett and the State of Washington and shall be furnished <br /> with such equipment as the Chief of Police shall deem necessary for such safe <br /> operation. Any cabulance may be inspected at any reasonable time by the Chief of <br /> Police or his representative. The Chief of Police shall, on application, and may <br /> periodically inspect each cabulance as to safety and cleanliness. The Chief of Police <br /> will insure compliance with the City and State law in regard to the following equipment <br /> of each cabulance: <br /> (A) Shock Absorbers <br /> (B) Tires (blowout proof, puncture proof, if available, <br /> adequate tread for non-skid operation throughout the <br /> inspection period) <br /> (C) Exits (each vehicle shall have at least two exits from the <br /> compartments where the person is carried). <br /> (D) For pits or cracks <br /> (E) Wheelchair retaining locks <br /> (F) Security of all auxiliary equipment <br /> (G) Safety belts <br /> Section 15: Each vehicle licensed shall have the word "cabulance" painted <br /> in letters at least 3" high on both sides of the vehicle directly under the true or <br /> assumed name listed thereon. Each vehicle license shall have the company vehicle <br /> numbers painted on all four sides of the vehicle not less than 4" high. The words <br /> cab, taxicab, bus, or similar words that might tend to deceive the public may not <br /> be used on any vehicle licensed under this ordinance. No vehicle covered by the <br /> terms of this ordinance shall be licensed whose color scheme, identifying design, <br /> monogram or insignia is designed to imitate any color scheme or identifying design <br /> of any other operator in such a manner as to be misleading or deceiving to the public. <br /> Section 16: It shall be unlawful for anyone driving or engaging in the business <br /> of operating any cabulance to charge, demand, collect or receive any greater fare than <br /> the following: As a pick-up fee for the first handicapped person in the cabulance <br /> -4- <br />
