Jane,
I have been looking around site this week and have been able to find a potential impervious area that could work with
the stated approach. In our Stormwater Master Plan,Subbasin 9 is listed as 100%impervious. However,Subbasin 9
currently has 0.837 acres of impervious area.Of that 0.837 acres at least 7000 square feet is likely to remain pervious.
This area is undesirable to develop for a number of reasons including but not limited to landscaping buffer
requirements, setbacks from public right of way and existing infrastructure(i.e. Fuel stall F5 to the west and a one
million gallon water tank to the south). As a result the 7000 square feet within sub basin 9 could be used to compensate
for the 6241 square feet of impervious surfaces created by the Glycol Storage building and associated paving. The
proposed 759 square foot difference between the swap is intended to serve as a safety factor to account for the
ambiguities in the 1988 basin delineations. I have attached supplementary pdf documents indicating the various areas
discussed.
If this swap is acceptable to you, what deliverables and permitting mechanisms are required to formalize this approach?
If you have any questions or would like clarification please let me know.Thank you again for help with this issue, I know
it has been a bit convoluted.
Sincerely,
Marty Gomez EIT
The Boeing Company
Facilities Plant Engineer/Project Management
Phone 425-387-7126
Email martin.h.gomez@boeing.com
From:Jane Zimmerman [mailto:JZimmerman@everettwa.gov]
Sent: Monday,April 11, 2016 10:09 AM
To:Gomez, Martin H <martin.h.gomez@boeing.com>
Cc: Page, Gayle M <gayle.m.page@boeing.com>;Tyler, David D<david.d.tyler@boeing.com>; Larmay, Russell T
<russell.t.larmay@boeing.com>
Subject: RE: Preliminary Stormwater Design for 45-61 Building
Hi Marty—
I was hoping that perhaps one of the Powder Mill pond sub-basins has/will have impervious area attributed to it that
won't actually be utilized, and that all y'all would be willing to "free up"that"extra" impervious area for this
project. That would mean this project's runoff could flow into the Powder Mill drainage system instead of keeping it
within the Japanese Creek drainage basin. I'm mostly concerned with the amount of impervious area draining to
Powder Mill vs Japanese Creek;the inherent margin of error in determining the original basin areas will cover us for
pervious areas.
Clear as mud??
Jane
Jane Zimmerman, Sr. Engineer
City of Everett Public Works Department
phone: 425-257-8885 fax: 425-257-8882
e-mail:jzimmerman(aeverettwa.gov
