For installation, alteration or repair of water piping and/or <br /> water treating equipment $2. 00 <br /> Disposals, basement sumps, floor drains, funnel drains, safe wastes and <br /> air gap devices shall be considered as fixtures." <br /> Section 4: That Part 2, Sec. 2. 4 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "Sec. 2. 4 - Board of Plumber Examiners <br /> The Board of Plumber Examiners shall be under the jurisdiction of the <br /> Inspection Department and shall consist of four (4) members: One (1) qualified <br /> Plumbing Contractor, one (1) qualified Journeyman Plumber and one (1) qualified <br /> member from the public at large. The Chief Plumbing Inspector shall be an <br /> ex officio member of the Board and shall be its Secretary and keep its records. <br /> All members of the Board shall be appointed by the Inspection Department and <br /> shall serve for three years and may be reappointed, unless removed for <br /> malfeasance in office, neglect of duty or incapacity. " <br /> Section 5: That Part 2, Sec. 2. 5 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "Sec. 2. 5 - Duties of the Board of Plumber Examiners <br /> (a) The Board of Plumber Examiners shall issue Plumber's Certificates <br /> of Qualification or Registration to such persons as may be entitled thereto, and <br /> conduct examinations for the purpose of determining the competency and knowledge <br /> of plumbing and drainage work of persons who are required by this code to take <br /> such examination. The Board of Examiners shall determine the character of <br /> the examination to be given any applicant and by majority vote accept or reject <br /> such applicant upon his showing as the case may be. <br /> (b) It shall be the duty of the Board to act as a Board of Appeals in making <br /> a correct determination of any appeal arising from actions of the Administrative <br /> Authority. <br /> (c) Said Board shall keep an accurate record of all their official <br /> transactions and render such reports and statistics as the Department having <br /> jurisdiction may require and direct. <br /> (d) Said Board shall elect annually, a Chairman from the members who <br /> shall preside at all meetings. They shall adopt such rules and regulations as <br /> they see fit for the proper and efficient discharge of their official duties. <br /> (e) Said Board shall determine and pass upon the suitability of alternate <br /> materials, types of construction, matters pertaining to plumbing practice, and <br /> in case of appeal, supply a reasonable interpretation of the provisions of this <br /> Code." <br /> Section 6: That there is hereby added to Part 2 of the Uniform Plumbing <br /> Code herein adopted a Sec. 2. 12 which shall read as follows: <br /> "Sec. 2. 12 - License Required <br /> (a) Before any person, firm, partnership or corporation shall carry <br /> on, or engage in the business of plumbing, he or it shall first procure a <br /> Master Plumber's License and pay to the City Treasurer the annual license <br /> fee imposed on such business. <br /> (b) No Master Plumber's License shall be issued to any person <br /> unless such person possesses a valid Master Plumber's Certificate of <br /> Page 3 <br />
