or hot air piping near any wiring if the temperature of such wiring will thereby <br /> be increased to more than approved maximum temperature allowed for such <br /> conductors or raceways. <br /> Section 19: <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to overfuse any conductor, <br /> motor or apparatus in excess of the maximum allowed by this chapter for such <br /> conductor, motor or apparatus, or to install any substitute in lieu of an <br /> approved fuse or circuit breaker, or to interfere with any automatic device, <br /> so as to reduce the factor of safety of the same. <br /> Section 20: <br /> The inspector shall answer any relevant questions and give any <br /> desired information in respect to the meaning, intent or application of the <br /> regulations and rules of this chapter. The inspector is not, however, <br /> empowered to and shall not lay out work or act in the capacity of consulting <br /> engineer for contractors, mechanics or ()niers. <br /> Whenever it is necessary for the City Electrical Inspector to make a <br /> determination concerning conflicting interpretations of this chapter or any <br /> code adopted herein, or concerning whether this chapter or adopted codes <br /> apply to a specific circumstance, he will publish his opinion by memorandum <br /> to members of the Puget Sound Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors' <br /> Association within 15 days of final determination. <br /> Section 21: ELECTRIC FENCES <br /> It shall be unlawful for any owner, lessee, or person in possession <br /> of any building or property, to construct, maintain, place, or allow to be <br /> constructed, maintained, or placed on, about or upon such a building or <br /> property, any fence, barrier, partition, or obstruction electrically charged <br /> or connected with the electrical charge, which may come in contact with <br /> persons, animals, or things, except in the areas and under the conditions <br /> set forth in the Everett City Code 2. 04. 010 (Ordinance 4022). <br /> Section 22• <br /> Extension cords of more than six feet in length will not be permitted <br /> unless used only on a temporary basis. Any use in one location for a period <br /> of more than 15 days shall be considered permanent. (Cords used in building <br /> construction excluded). Extension cords shall be used and protected <br /> in such a manner so there will be no possible danger of fire or bodily injury. <br /> Section 23: <br /> As each building has different service requirements and load <br /> conditions, the inspector shall be consulted and supplied with the specific load <br /> data before work is started. <br /> Section 24: <br /> A circuit breaker having a rating above 600 amperes shall have an <br /> interrupting capacity rating of not less than the short circuit current available <br /> in the distribution system as determined by serving utility for the location <br /> of its use. <br /> Page 14 <br />
