Assumptions/Exclusions
• Surveyor will be provided with access to the site during the course of the project.
• No corners will be set and no record of survey will be recorded as part of this scope.
• A current title report will be provided by the client.
• At the time of scoping this project it is unknown how many, if any, right of way acquisitions,
or easements will be required to complete this project. This survey scope does not include
right of way acquisitions or easement preparation.
• Potholing utilities will be limited to 12 potholes in the survey area. Potholing coordination
shall be by KPFF Survey, and shall be for mapping clarifications, if needed. KPFF Civil shall
coordinate utility potholes that may be needed for design conflict resolution.
• Underground utility depths and sizes will not be shown except where record utility
information is available, or where pipe size can be measured, such as sanitary and storm
maintenance holes.
Deliverables
Deliverables per the City of Everett Surveying Standards, as further detailed in the Project
Submittal List
23. Geotechnical Investigation and Recommendations (HWA)
See Task 3 for further detailed description and deliverables for Geotechnical Investigation and
Recommendations. In Task 23 HWA Geosciences will provide geotechnical engineering
services associated with conveyance utilities extending from the proposed western bridge
abutment to a proposed outfall located approximately 1,200 feet to the Northwest.
HWA shall conduct 3 additional borings along the proposed extended utility conveyance
alignment and at strategically located structures. HWA proposes to advance three, 25 foot
deep, limited access borings along the proposed utility alignment. These borings would be
drilled with a small drill rig to limit impact to traffic along West Marine View Drive. The borings
along the west side of West Marine View Drive would be drilled in the planter strip on the east
side of the existing sidewalk. Traffic control would be limited to pedestrian and shoulder work
ahead signage along West Marine View Drive.
One additional boring, about 50 feet deep, will be drilled at the location of a proposed utility vault
within the port of Everett Property. This boring will be drilled with mud rotary drilling techniques.
A groundwater monitoring well will be installed upon completion of the boring to monitor
groundwater variations both seasonally and tidally. In the vicinity of the proposed outfall HWA
shall drill one boring to a depth of 50 feet with mud rotary drilling techniques. A ground water
monitoring well will be installed at this locations to monitor seasonal and tidal groundwater
fluctuations.
HWA shall coordinate with WSDOT to get approval for drilling the proposed limited access
boring within the planter strip on the west side of west Marine View Drive.
HWA shall evaluate the soil conditions along the proposed utility alignment and generate
recommendations associated with utility trenching, backfilling, dewatering and possible over-
excavation. HWA shall provide lateral earth pressure recommendations for proposed utility
vaults and manholes. Earth pressure diagrams for both Static and seismic loading conditions
will be generated using the procedures outlined in the WSDOT GDM.
KPFF Consulting Engineer November 10, 2014
West Marine View Drive Utilities, Phase 2 Page 48 of 55
