City of Everett Edgewater Creek Bridge Replacement <br /> WORK ELEMENT 5 BRIDGE AESTHETICS <br /> This Work Element is performed by Makers to provide Bridge Aesthetics design. The following <br /> outlines the tasks associated with this work: <br /> 5.1 Concept Design for Urban Design Elements <br /> a. Review engineering work, site constraints, existing City policies and activities <br /> relevant to the project. Assist as requested regarding street configuration and <br /> relationship to adjacent properties. Meet with Staff and Consultant Team to <br /> discuss opportunities,constraints and ideas. (Follow-up with selected Staff and <br /> team members may be necessary <br /> b. Sketch preliminary concepts <br /> c. Review with staff(one meeting)and engineering team and refine the concepts. <br /> d. Assist Enviro-issues with public open house. (Event time only) <br /> e. Review results of the open house with the Staff/Consultant team. <br /> f. Work up preferred ideas to a 30%design level. Provide drawings in a format <br /> compatible with the engineering documents. (Format provided by the engineering <br /> team.) Provide narrative description of urban design and/or outline <br /> g. Prepare 30%design level quantity estimate and opinion of cost estimate. <br /> 5.2 60%Design for Urban Design Elements <br /> Prepare 60%Design for Urban Design Elements. Working with City staff and the design team, <br /> perform the following tasks: <br /> a. Refine design alternatives as developed in the concept development phase. <br /> b. Review engineering team and staff. (one meeting) <br /> c. Present to the public at an open house as requested by the City. Obtain input <br /> regarding preferences and priorities from the public. Review results of the open <br /> house with the Staff/Consultant team. (Not Budgeted) <br /> d. Prepare 60%design level drawings and update quantity estimate and opinion of <br /> cost estimate. <br /> 5.3 90% & Final Design for Urban Design Elements <br /> Prepare 90%and 100%documents for urban elements. Working with City staff and the design <br /> team,perform the following tasks: <br /> a. Refine design alternatives as developed in the 60%submittal phase to the 90% <br /> level. <br /> b. Review 90%work with City/engineering team. <br /> c. Prepare final design level drawings and update quantity estimate and opinion of <br /> cost estimate. <br /> Page 20 of 42 <br />
